3. Why We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- provide quotations;

4. Lawful Bases
Depending on the circumstances, we may process personal information because it is necessary to perform a contract or take requested pre-contract steps, comply with a legal obligation, pursue legitimate business interests where appropriate, or because consent has been provided where consent is the appropriate lawful basis.
5. Recipient Information
Customers may provide personal information about another person, such as the recipient of a parcel.
Customers should ensure that they are entitled to provide this information and, where appropriate, inform the recipient that their details are being provided to LX for delivery and customs purposes.
6. Who We May Share Information With
Where necessary to provide the service, personal information may be shared with:

We do not sell customers' personal information.
7. International Transfers
Because LX provides services between the UK and Libya, some personal information may need to be accessed or shared outside the United Kingdom.
This can include recipient information, parcel details and customs information needed to arrange transport, delivery and customs clearance.
Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, LX will take appropriate steps to use a lawful transfer mechanism or other permitted basis.
8. Payment Information
LX may receive information relating to payments, such as payment amount, transaction reference, payment date, Order Number and payment status.
LX does not need to store customers' online-banking passwords or similar credentials.
9. How Long We Keep Information
LX Delivery Service keeps personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, tax, customs, claims, fraud-prevention and record-keeping requirements.
Completed orders and transaction records:
We normally retain completed order records, quotations associated with orders,
invoices, receipts and payment records for up to 6 years after
the end of the financial year to which they relate, or longer where required
by law.
Goods declarations and customs records:
We normally retain shipment and customs-related records for up to
6 years after completion of the shipment where necessary for
customs, legal, tax, claims and record-keeping purposes.
Claims and complaints:
Records relating to a claim or complaint may normally be retained for up to
6 years after the matter is closed.
Unsuccessful quotations:
Where a quotation does not result in an order, we normally delete or anonymise
the enquiry after 6 months, unless there is another lawful
reason to retain it.
General customer enquiries:
We normally retain general customer-service enquiries for up to
12 months.
Identification information:
Where identification information or copies of identification documents are
required for a shipment, we aim to delete unnecessary copies or sensitive
identification information as soon as the relevant operational, customs or
legal requirement has ended. As an internal target, unnecessary copies should
normally be deleted within 90 days after completed delivery,
unless a longer period is required by law, customs requirements, an active
claim, fraud-prevention needs or another legitimate reason.
Marketing information:
Marketing contact information is retained until the individual opts out or
until LX determines that it is no longer appropriate to retain it. We normally
review inactive marketing records after 2 years.
Website and technical records:
Website, contact-form and similar technical records may normally be retained
for up to 12 months, unless a longer period is reasonably
necessary for security, fraud prevention or legal purposes.
When information is no longer required, LX will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it.
10. Keeping Information Secure
LX takes reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
Access should be limited to people who need the information for legitimate business purposes.
11. Your Data-Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances, individuals may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.
12. Complaints About Personal Data
Please contact LX first at info@lxparcels.com if you have a data-protection concern.
Individuals may also have the right to complain to the UK's data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
